WoW and Real Life Stuff

Being a data analyst in real life has always affected the way I interact with things and WoW is not the exception. I have allways wondered about the basic demographical statistics in the game: gender, age, region, language, marital status, and so on… as I’m sure any of this variables will affect the game play.

Liking the game as much as I do is a difficult balancing act between RL and WoW, as it was proven to me last night.

I logged, as usual, when my six year old lost his fight with me and finally went to sleep… only to realize that we where missing a guildie or two so we can go and do FoS, PoS and HoR as a guild (nobody want to tank these days :P ).  This, I took it like I should: hit the LFG and went my way into boredom. A few randoms later I saw some RL friends logging in: Blackguatu was doing his pugs like crazy and was saved to almost everything, but when I saw Elmoreno logging in I knew that my luck was changing (Elmo, as we call him, is a warrior that can outdps most player even as a tank).

I asked kindly (about 15 times in two seconds) for an invite to do “the new instances” and so we went. We did FoS using only half a brain and we lost our healer when getting into PoS… no big deal, found a Druid healer and we love ‘em.

A few posts back I talked about this great Crossbow that I wanted out of Heroic Pit of  Saron, and you can imagine how exited I was when approaching the second boss to get it… then,  RL kicks in. My baby girl, with just 1 month under her belt was ruling my “wow time” and decided she needed some serious feeding. OMG can she scream! Being a caring father I had to build the courage to let my party know something like:  ”really sorry… have to go, baby needs feeding”…”sorry, sorry sorry”. And there goes another day without my Xbow (soon my darling, soon)

Have you ever been beaten by RL stuff???  Let us know and drop a comment.

lol maji, that sucks. But you are not alone, I’ve had issues in the past as well. Perhaps not with feeding a baby (though I wish it would be sometime, someday) but with less serious issues such as a client calling in the middle of a raid or a power outage, or just internet problems I can’t seem to fix. It sucks, but that’s how it goes. Look at its bright side, perhaps the bow didn’t drop on that run :P . Maybe it will drop another day where you will actually be there.

Good luck on your next attempt.

    Cheers,
    Chimi.

as a matter of fact… it didn’t dropped :P , but I still feel bad for leaving with only 1 boss down.

maybe today… maybe tomorrow, but I really need the quietness of shooting arrows.

    Thanks for the support
